Description

Ilex vomitoria ‘Schillings Dwarf’

USDA Zone Zones 7–10. Excellent for Central Florida conditions — thrives outdoors year‑round with no winter protection required.

Sun Requirements Prefers full sun to bright partial sun. More light produces tighter foliage and smaller leaves, enhancing Shohin proportion and pad definition.

Watering & Salt Tolerance Moderate water needs; keep evenly moist but well‑drained. High salt tolerance makes it reliable for coastal environments like Indialantic.

Fertilizer Feed with a balanced, slow‑release fertilizer during the growing season. Responds well to organic blends that promote dense foliage and steady growth.

Repotting Repot every 2–3 years in early spring. Handles root pruning well and adapts to standard bonsai substrates with good drainage.
