Bonsai at the Zoo
The Bonsai Society of Brevard, located in Melbourne, FL, is pleased to invite Bonsai enthusiasts throughout the state to visit our 2nd annual "Bonsai at the Zoo" display to take place on November 8 - 9, 2008.
The display will consist of over 65 of our club's finest Bonsai as well as Bonsai from Jim Smith and Jim VanLandingham. The display will be in the conference center at the Zoo and will have several vendors located on the covered deck adjacent to the center's entrance. There will be demonstrations by talented Bonsai artists at 11:00 a.m. Saturday and each afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
Before and after visiting the display you can tour the Zoo exhibits which have over 600 animals from around the world. A popular display is the elevated giraffe platform, where you can hand feed the animals at their head height.
The Zoo hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. The display will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
After entering the Zoo, there is no further cost to enter the display. Entrance to the Zoo is $11.50 for adults, $10.50 for seniors, and $8.50 for children.
The Zoo is located at 8225 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne, and is immediately east of Exit 191 of I-95.
